Desiree Joyce Sy-Tana, known as DJ Sy, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SY3 Energy Maintenance Services Corporation and Synercore Heavy Industries Corp. Her role centers on setting strategic direction, developing organizational capability, strengthening client and partner relationships, and building an execution culture founded on safety, quality, accountability, and commercial discipline.

Her entrepreneurial journey is closely connected to SY3 Energy, which was established in Cavite in 2013 to address asset-protection, maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation requirements in the power sector. Over time, SY3 developed its industrial-service offering to support energy, utilities, mining, sugar, pulp and paper, cement, commercial, and other equipment-intensive facilities.

SY3’s operating platform includes in-shop and on-site mechanical and electrical maintenance, boiler and turbine repair, non-destructive testing, hard surfacing, mill-pulverizer rehabilitation, reverse engineering and 3D scanning, fabrication, industrial supplies, and technical field support. These services form the industrial foundation from which the wider group continues to develop.

Through Synercore, Ms. Sy-Tana is directing the development of a separate industrial and general-construction business. Synercore is positioned to coordinate engineering management, civil and structural works, mechanical and electrical installations, procurement support, testing, commissioning, and asset support requirements. Its delivery approach is designed around structured project controls, QA/QC, HSE, document control, procurement tracking, stakeholder coordination, and disciplined closeout.

Ms. Sy-Tana’s leadership does not replace the responsibilities of Synercore’s engineering, project, quality, safety, commercial, and site teams. Rather, she establishes the corporate direction, governance expectations, and organizational environment within which these teams deliver.

She also supports workforce development and industry training collaboration, reflecting the importance of capable Filipino technical talent for sustained industrial performance. In 2025, the Asia’s Influential Leader Awards organizer recognized her as “Asia’s Leader of Excellence in Entrepreneurship.”

Her focus remains the responsible growth of a Philippine industrial enterprise that connects specialist service capability with integrated, reliable project delivery.
